The Pushkin Project is a cross-curricular, cross-community and cross-border project involving primary, secondary, Irish medium and special needs schools. Creative writing and other creative art forms are central to the project using the environment as a source of inspiration. This year our 4th Class pupils took part in the project under the guidance of our Principal Ms. Cahill and Ms. Costello. They traveled to the Barronscourt Estate in Omagh during the year for a "Pushkin day" of workshops. An Art Facilitator, Annette Corkery then came to the school to work with the class. The pupils created beautiful Art pieces and wonderful written work and we held a day of celebration on June 17th. Co-ordinator Kitty Hughes and The Omagh Pushkin Leader, Ann McElaine came to our celebration and they cut the ribbon to open the lovely new display of Artwork at the front of our school. The Hunt School also took part in the project and joined us to celebrate their wonderful work. Our G.P room was packed with excellent pieces of work from both schools. The pupils were presented with individual certificates and a school plaque. We thank all at the Pushkin Project and Ms Cahill and Ms Costello for their help and support during the project and we commend all the pupils who took part.
